ART cycle #4 - nearly complete

Comments

I'm going to be starting this whole process in a few months and I've been really nervous about getting similar results. Can I ask, is this with or without sperm injection and assisted hatching? If you don't want to answer, thats ok. I hope things work out for you in the end.

wow, sorry it has been a crappy cycle.

I had a similar cycle- 11 eggs, 7 viable, down to 3 on day 5, one of which didn't make it.

I'll hold onto hope for you, but I am sure I'd be doing the same thing, contacting adoption people/

Sending you luck and prayers.
I am so sorry... ::hugs::

We had to have ICSI, but we have only done AH with the frozen cycle. My RE doesn't see the need to do it for women under 38 (I'm 34), and we haven't had problems with implantation before.

So many people from my groups have had it work - in fact, I can't think of anyone under 40 who didn't have it work within 3 tries. You'll do great!
Thanks for the info. We only started considering IVF a couple weeks ago, so I'm still in the "learn as much as I can" stage. I don't really understand all the different elements just yet, so I'm glad I've got some time before we get started to prepare for all of this. Its nice to get some info from someone who has been through it.
If you want lots of medical info about how it all works, I highly recommend "How to Get Pregnant" by Dr. Silber. You have to take some of his opinions and attitudes with a grain of salt, but the medical info was outstanding. By far the most thorough book I read on the subject.

I went crazy with trying to learn as much as I could before my first cycle, and there were so many people on forums who talked about how hard it was. I have to say that once I got past the first injection (which was a piece of cake), it wasn't bad at all. :) There's a bit of discomfort right at egg retrieval time, but it's only a little and not for very long.

Best of luck, and I'll be following your progress!
Thanks for the book suggestion. I just put it on hold at the library.
